IBM Calgary IOMMU Support Is In
CONFIG_X86_64 && CONFIG_PCI
Hardware IOMMU help on IBM xSeries x366 and x460systems. Required to run systems with more than 3 GB of memorycorrect with 32-bit PCI devices that do not support DAC(double cycle). Calgary also maintains in-flight RVs.Taken individually, all DMAs pass through the entire IOMMU. thisprevents one of them from going somewhere else than plannedTarget. This reveals hard-to-find kernel bugs andincorrect behavior of runners and devices not using API for direct memory accessSet these DMA buffers correctly. IOMMU can be easydisabled at startup with iommu=off.Normally the kernel should be able to make the right choice on its own.If you’re not sure, say Y.

|Do I understand what outcome I’m really thinking about?
I think it’s just a problem, I have amd64 on nforce3
If I equip type and functionProcessor options –> AMD IOMMU support.
What is the difference?
thanks for helping friends

this is the help text for getting AMD_IOMMU in gentoo-sources 2.6.27-r7
How can I easily find out if my ACPI table is of type IVRS?
I turned off Calgary to try them, no headaches so far. How do I make a small sample of IOMMU presence/functionality?
